What diet should you be on?

weekly memo

Do you ever say what diet should I be on?

Do you go down Google rabbit holes looking for answers?

I’ve had this question several times this week.

I understand why people are confused.

Most of us assume we need to be on and off diets.

The diet industry rakes in $70 billion a year.

It’s meant to keep you in a state of confusion.

Always chasing the latest trend.

In answer to the question, what diet should you be on?

My response is to eat real food.

People look confused.

My answer is too simple.

The average American diet is 60-70% ultra-processed food.

In other words, it’s not really food.

It’s the packaged food that most people rely on for convenience.

When you eat whole, real food, you don’t need to diet.

My 67-year-old client came to me wanting better energy and help with his pre-diabetes.

He was ready to diet.

White knukle his way through another highly restrictive meal plan.

On our final meeting today, he said, “I learned so much about how to eat to have better energy, less sugar cravings, and I no longer need an afternoon nap. I feel so much better. My clothes fit better too.”

Nutrition makes your life better.

Nutrition should add to your life, not box it in.

Eating well should make your world bigger, not smaller.

I often encourage clients to think of what they can add to their meals.

Add more protein, non-starchy vegetables, and healthy fats.

I think you’ll be amazed if you shift your mindset from dieting to focusing on eating whole, real food.

Then notice how your hunger, energy, and cravings shift.

If you’d like to have better energy, fewer cravings, and better digestion, rather than a diet, I’m here to help.
