Quick fixes
We had a mild winter here in the Pacific Northwest.
The snow is gone, the flowers are peeking up out of the ground, and the cloudy days have turned to incredible sunshine.
Homebuilding has now started as the ground has thawed.
As I walk through my community each day, I notice every step taken to build a new home.
What dawned on me is that you can’t leave out any of the steps, or the house will collapse.
The lot is graded so that a form can be created to pour the foundation.
Rising out of the foundation are all the plumbing and electrical systems that have been roughed in.
Then the outer walls start to take shape, and then the interior rooms.
Then the roof goes on.
You get the point.
There’s a precision and order to building a house.
Your health is no different.
What’s been happening in the health and wellness space is a focus on shiny objects in the form of quick fixes and hacks:
- Supplements
- Peptides
- Hormone replacement therapy
- Weight loss drugs
- Complicated or restrictive “diets”
- Weighted vests
- Sauna
- Cold plunge
- Data tracking devices
- Following health gurus who have 3-hour podcasts full of expensive and complicated longevity plans
The problem is that you can spend a ton of money on these, yet you haven’t built a solid foundation.
You’ve missed the grading, foundation, and framing.
You’ve gone straight to putting the roof on top of poor nutrition and lifestyle habits.
Start with the simple things that will build a solid foundation for your health:
- Eating whole real food
- Getting outside in sunshine
- Sleeping 7-8 hours a night
- Drinking filtered water
- Learning to manage your inner critic
- Supporting healthy digestion
Big pharma and Big wellness want to sell you the fancy, shiny objects.
They reach out to me every week to see if I want to be an affiliate and earn a commission selling these things to you.
Out of integrity, I decline.
Save your money and build a solid foundation.
You won’t need most of what I listed.
