Different Symptoms. Same solution.
Lately, I've been getting questions about various chronic health conditions.
Have you been told you're prediabetic?
Or your cholesterol or triglycerides are climbing.
Maybe you can't lose weight no matter what you try.
Have you developed food sensitivities, or does your digestion seem to react to everything you eat?
Maybe you’ve Googled:
What's the best supplement?
Should I try a GLP-1 medication?
Do I need peptides?
Is there a special diet for my condition?
I’d love to clear up some of the confusion.
These seem like completely different problems.
It makes perfect sense to think each one needs its own solution.
But after working with clients, I've found that many of them are missing the very same foundational pieces.
People come to me focused on the symptom.
I see the symptom as a clue.
- Weight loss resistance
- Food sensitivities
- High cholesterol
- Prediabetes
- Fatigue
- Digestive issues
On the surface, these may look like different problems.
These are different ways your body is asking for better support.
While your symptoms may be different, the foundation they're built on is often the same.
When someone comes to work with me, we don't begin with expensive supplements or complicated protocols.
We start with the basics.
Are you eating enough protein?
How is your energy throughout the day?
How's your digestion?
Are you sleeping well?
How much chronic stress is your body carrying?
Are you eating mostly whole, real food?
Those questions may not sound exciting, but they're often the missing pieces.
A while back, I wrote about walking through my neighborhood and watching new homes being built.
You can read about it here.
Before the walls go up or the roof goes on, the foundation has to be poured.
Every step happens in the right order because skipping the foundation puts the entire house at risk.
Your health works the same way.
The wellness industry loves shiny objects. I call these the roof of the house:
- Supplements.
- Peptides.
- Weight-loss medications.
- Wearable devices.
- The newest diet.
These can all be valuable tools.
But too often, people try to put a roof on a house without a foundation.
It's why I spend time helping my clients master the fundamentals first.
Your plan should be personalized.
Everyone needs a foundation.
Once your body has what it needs, many symptoms become easier to improve.
Your body finally has the support it's been asking for.
If you've been chasing the next quick fix while feeling like you're still not getting anywhere, maybe it's time to stop asking,
"What's the next thing I should add?"
Instead, ask yourself,
"Have I built the foundation my body needs?"
That's where lasting change begins.
